The church is not a place—it is a people. We seek to be Christlike and engage in community service more than church service.
Imagine Jesus/Yeshua having a megachurch, preaching like your preacher, the 12 disciples doing a full-out concerts, and then guilting people into giving. You can't. It doesn't even sound right.
If you are tired of Sunday Super Bowl concerts, fashion shows, and hyped up sermons, join us as we eat meat (the tougher to digest spiritual concepts) rather than milk (the typical Sunday sermon and Sunday school lessons) so that we can get to the truth of God and who we are in relationship to God.
We focus on being Christlike more than Christian. They used to be the same but unfortunately they are not anymore. We seek to "have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16) and be guided by his thoughts and purposes in our daily walk.
We focus on community service more than church service. James 2:14-17 reads "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. And Jesus/Yeshua's purpose was “to proclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor” (Luke 4:18–19). We are here to continue that work and bring Heaven on Earth as the Lord's Prayer states.
We focus on being the church and how we show up Monday through Saturday (in our mental and body temple) more than going to church on Sunday (in the church temple). The body is a temple (1 Corinthians 6:19) and God does not dwell in temples made with the hands of man (Acts 17:24). James 1:27 declares "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
We focus on study more than sermons and proactively seeking more than passively sitting. 2 Timothy 2:15 says "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." As Isaiah 28:10 adds, we study The Bible "precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line."
